The attendance rate is important because students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently. It’s difficult for the teacher and the class to build their skills and progress if a large number of students are frequently absent. In addition to falling behind in academics, students who are not in school on a regular basis are more likely to get into trouble with the law and cause problems in their communities. Our children have so many obstacles to battle and being in class with their peers can often be the lifeline to their well being. 

The attendance rate is not solely affecting the schools' numbers but when your child misses class, they are missing instructional time that they can not recover. Missing instructional time places them behind in class assignments which also affects their confidence when it comes to testing. Testing is based on what they have not learned in the classroom, an absence can likely mean a failed test grade leading to class failure. Attendance Matters.
